The Strategic Fiker Center for Studies participated in the virtual event for the Middle East and North Africa region. Organized by the Pennsylvania Program for Think Tanks and the Bahrain Studies Center on the Repercussions and Methods of Confronting the Novel Coronavirus Pandemic.
The participation of the Strategic Fiker Center for Studies was represented in the intervention of researcher Siham Al-Darisi under the title: “The Repercussions of Covid 19 on Turkey in 2021”, where she pointed out that the repercussions of the pandemic were clear on Turkey in the political and economic aspects.
The researcher at the Strategic Fiker Center confirmed that Turkey is one of the countries that produced the Corona vaccine, and 56 million Turks have received the second vaccine, but the number of cases is still increasing compared to last year.
Among the economic effects of the Corona pandemic, there are several problems that also have political repercussions, such as the collapse of the Turkish lira, the refugee crisis and the Turkish government’s attempt to provide assistance to them, in addition to the challenges that await the Turkish government in the future regarding the upcoming presidential elections.
It is worth noting that the event for think tanks in the Middle East and North Africa is part of a series of events launched to research the “Covid 19” crisis by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the Leider Foundation at the University of Pennsylvania.
