On Friday, October 1, 2021, the Strategic Fiker Center for Studies held the first meeting for researchers in the Encyclopedia of Islamic Political Jurisprudence project, in the presence of the head of the project’s advisory body, the center’s advisor, Professor Seif El-Din Abdel-Fattah, who aimed to introduce the project, its founding vision, and the approved methodologies for work in the project.
Professor Seif El-Din Abdel-Fattah stressed that the importance of the project of the Encyclopedia of Political Jurisprudence comes in the context of preserving the Islamic heritage by contributing to the establishment of the foundations of the renaissance and civilization witnessed by the nation.
He added, “The mission of the project will be to collect heritage and try to bring it closer to researchers and those interested in Islamic heritage culture, and to preserve the nation’s identity and civilization.”
Abdel-Fattah indicated that the most prominent foundations on which the encyclopedia project is based lie in the guideline, the founding vision, and the scientific methodology, in addition to the structure of the participants and its supervisors, pointing to an extensive number of meetings and interviews to select researchers and specialists, who in turn will contribute to the preparation of the encyclopedia with its topics and research.
He explained that the topics of Islamic political jurisprudence and Islamic political thought were not composed in one way or a disciplined integrated approach that attempts in any way to understand the epistemological map of the Islamic heritage, which means that the ultimate goal of the project is to present the Islamic political heritage to the nation in an organized, systematic, classified and courted form as well.
And the advisor to the Strategic Fiker Center for Studies, during a meeting via the “Zoom” program with 26 researchers, who were chosen to work within the project of the Encyclopedia of Islamic Political Jurisprudence, indicated the necessity of serving the topics and proposals presented, and that they should be a priority for researchers, explaining that “the work will be open to all suggestions.” Presented and evaluated by a specialized scientific committee within the interests of the encyclopedia.
The meeting enriched a set of questions and inquiries by researchers participating in the encyclopedia project, which revolved around the general form of research to be presented, the mechanism of information sources and references, in addition to proposing research topics to be adopted by the encyclopedia project, and the general philosophy in terms of concepts and issues that the project will address.
Accordingly, the head of the advisory body clarified many points about the inquiries and suggestions submitted by the participating researchers.
And at the same time, he showed the general perception of the shape of the encyclopedia, as it will be in two copies, the paper version, which includes the research prepared by the researchers, and the second is the electronic version, and it consists of three sections. : It includes texts quoted from heritage sources, collected and classified in a special section, and the link between them and research is electronically via (hypertext).
The researchers participating in the Encyclopedia of Islamic Jurisprudence project expressed their pride in joining the project, which will place many points on the concepts of heritage and identity from an Islamic perspective, in addition to emphasizing the researchers’ need to control many concepts about legitimate politics and Islamic thought.
